“Why do you blog, Erika?”
I write for those I love. For my parents and grandparents, who see less and less of my life over the years. For my brother, who is far away. For my friends, my relatives, and people who care about me.
I write for those I will love. I hope to have people who look up to me, care about me, and mentor me down the road. I want them to be able to see where I’ve come from, and how my journey has progressed. Also, call me crazy, but I’d like to have kids someday. And I certainly would like for them to be able to see who mama was, and how much she loved them.
I write for myself. I write to keep a log of thoughts, stages of life, and breakthroughs. To remind myself who I am, and whose I am. To create, to inspire, and to grow.
Really, this is one large, sprawling love letter.
